Top 10 Awesome Things People Do On Facebook

I can’t find the link but a while back a friend of mine tweeted a post about the Top 10 Annoying Things People Do On Facebook [Just Google it and you'll get a slew of posts]. While I get the humour behind it, it also made me think about how often we’re telling people what they are doing wrong when we should actually be telling people what they are doing right. I told her I was going to write a post called Top 10 Awesome Things People Do On Facebook. Well…here it is. Feel free to add to the list in the comments.

  1. You like posts…AND provide thoughtful comments.
  2. You send a personal message when you request a friendship.
  3. When posting something you give credit to whoever showed it to you first.
  4. You friend a person after meeting them in real life and taking time to get to know them.
  5. You post a variety of content.
  6. Your profile pictures are pictures that other people took of you.
  7. When you like a brand page, you visit it often and engage on their page.
  8. You respond to people when they comment on your activity.
  9. You take care in forming sentences and paragraphs and enjoy spelling words correctly.
  10. You laugh are yourself when you realize that even though you took care, you spelled something incorrectly.

    Haha, Zoe did you purposely place that typo in #10? If so, well played. Well played. I like your tips – especially #6 – and would add this one: You know when to send a message to a friend’s private Inbox as opposed to posting it publicly to their Wall.

    Seems like a good off-hand way to share facebook etiquette. Like Krista, I was at first annoyed at the typo in #10 and then thought it might have been purposeful to demonstrate your point. Either way, it is apt.

    I dunno if Krista was annoyed, per say….she was just pointing it out! :)

    In trying to focus on the positive side of things that make us happy, rather than the negative things that stress or annoy us, do you have any others you would add to the list?
